I don’t think many games can be played and be watched like movie. That’s just me.

I think that Video games tell stories better than TV these days.
I think you’re on glue. Video Games take you deeper and get you more involved than watching a movie. Like come the fuck on MGS4 had over 8 hours of cinematic and had a better plot than any movie made that year. FF games have always had good story and Halo puts you in the driver seat for every ending of epic levels.
uncharted feels exactly like watching indiana jones
hmm people in japan died after playing 3ds for 5mins should i buy it?
I think video games are already there in terms of story with T.V. shows and movies.
video games do not need to be movies. They are video games, they should tell a story in a way a game should. See: Deus Ex, many details are within the game but optional to find. Games should be interactive, we should choose the content we play with the core details being given to us. I don’t want everything shoved down my throat while I’m playing a game because that goes against the very idea of what a game is.
personally i find my self more attached to Shepard (ect) that i ever have with anyone in a movie..
The problem with games being “movies” is the fact that they are games.
Writers have to handle multiple possible story threads, and to keep it all going without (too many) loopholes can cause the story to seem shallow and/or railroaded.
To make the “better” story, players tend to get less choice.
@tommern89 sweet.
@Fulltonic I’m not saying I didn’t like it, but best story in video games so far, is a bit of a stretch
Ehh I would rather go to E3 then ADC. I would prefer trying out games and attending the expos and stuff then hear steve jobs say th eiphones new features.
And MGS4 is the game I think is closest to movies considering storytelling. In fact MGS4 is better than some movies I have seen no lie.
I think games have already past movies in some respects. A movie you just watch, but rarely is there a movie that I am drawn into and feel like I am actually there. Unlike in games where it is standard to be drawn into them. Think of it this way. On one level, it is considered a good movie that makes you forget that you are watching it, but it is considered a bad game that DOESN’T immerse you. My two cents.
There are already many games that tell a more intriguing story than most movies. Most movies you want to see in one sitting where many games, especially your better rpg, fps, and survival horror games, you keep coming back bit by bit to see how the story progresses. Even better than a movie, you control part of the story and many times can achieve different endings and sometimes different versions of the story.
