Microsoft is amazing but, I don’t like how weak the windows 8 layout looks like for desktop. But just like you said it looks insanely amazing on a tablet but not a desktop.

Lol just like always they copy Apple and there idea of a simpler way of a desktop and introducing things from a mobile device, and they put the microsoft touch on it and make it really shitty buggy and completely unusable. Good luck with your pcs guys. I’ll stick to OSX Lion.
For tablet i like it but for a computer ill wait for windows 9 when they learn there lesson about concentrating 100% on tablets

As you discuss this is perfect for tablets. But I’d hate this for my desktop. I don’t know if you are familiar with the ASUS EP121 tablet that runs full Win7 with i5 Dual core and hyperthreading. That is awesome.
It is sad to see that Microsoft is taking this “simplicity”-road. As you said: They should make a OS for desktop with capabillity to touch

I’m sure Linux already has some sort of thing like this already- they have some crazy docks/menus/etc. that you can add on.

microsoft should keep all the tablet stuff in a windows 8 tablet edition or something. i want to see more changed made to the desktop of windows 8 because it looks the same as windows 7

@MutantKush go and look up Microsoft surface to see who copied who. Microsoft basically invented the idea for the ipod touch if thats what ur referring to as mac does not look anything like this.

But dont forget that this is just a preview and not even beta- probably not even alpha but
I think microsft understands the need for a productive product desktop
and i think in this partener preview their mainpoin was that windows 8 is introducing a new formfactor and thats the tab and that windows 8 will run on all in someway based on how the user wants it so dont be dismayed as this is not final

time to change generation of windows,…. window touchscreen then will be window hologram …could be windows-glasses (could be confuse of reality,play games while driving)… Do microsoft think human brain also multifunction
i like ubuntu, but cannot play exe file & games , always beta also…after 9.10 then 9.20 then continued just like macosx
this window just add widget & more function but still windows= windows + widgets
can play modern warfare with this window?
